She was born Nov. 21, 1922 in Cleveland, the daughter of David and Minnie Smith Van Dame. She was a member of Willoughby Baptist Church, Windermere Chapter 588 Order of the Eastern Star and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Sifling is survived by her children, James (Cristieann) Sifling of Eastlake and Janice (Gene) Thoms of Cleveland; her brother, David (Nancy) Van Dame of Madison, a sister-in-law, Florence Van Dame of Painesville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Raymond Sifling; second husband John Burger; a brother, William; and two sisters: Ruth Van Dame and Edna Hylkema (see her obituary above). Friends may call at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue in Willoughby on Tuesday, Aug. 5 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
